The Natures of War
“Many commentators focus on ‘nature’ as a domain which is ravaged for ‘conflict commodities’ and over which ‘resource wars’ are waged. But ‘nature’ is also a medium through which military violence is conducted, and this presentation ranges from the mud of the Western Front through the North African desert in the Second World War to the rainforests of South East Asia to explore the materialities of modern war.”
The event will take place in the Arts Lecture Theatre, Arts Building, The Scores from 3.15-6pm on Thursday, 14 November 2013.
