Experimental Geographies

"There is tenderness only in the coarsest demand: that no-one shall go hungry any more" – Theodor Adorno, Minima Moralia (1974: 156)

“Uneven Geographies” at Nottingham Contemporary (Photo Update)

BBC Nottingham has posted a slide show of the “Uneven Geographies” exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary. The flickr site for Contemporary includes photos from last Saturday’s conference on the “Geopolitical Turn” in contemporary practice. For that conference, I successfully experimented (I hope!) with the presentation editor prezi in an brief introduction to the work of the French art collective Bureau D’Études. I had tried to use it at the AAG conference in Washington only for it to crash in an especially unedifying manner. This time it worked!

I suspect that we are not in a post-political age despite all the slick encomiums that are currently on offer here in the UK in the aftermath of the election. Post-powerpoint however…

A more detailed commentary on the “Uneven Geographies” to follow shortly…
